KENINGAU: To achieve the 2050 National Transformation (TN50) aspirations, graduates should remember that yesterday’s success was not a reason to stop learning, said Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Haji Aman.

On the contrary, he said they needed to make the day as a stepping stone to continuously strive to enhance knowledge and skills to advance.

“I wish the Institute of Islamic Studies and Dakwah Sabah (Ipdas) will continue to succeed in the field of Islamic education,” he said in a speech during the Ipdas 13th convocation ceremony at its hall here, yesterday.

Musa, whose speech was read by Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister Datuk Haji Mohd Ariffin Haji Mohd Arif, said he learnt that Ipdas was the only governmentrun institution offering the Diploma in Islamic Studies and Dakwah in Sabah.

In view of this, he urged government departments and the private sector to help and work together to develop Ipdas.

In this context, he said it was not only academic but also in terms of infrastructure development such as more conducive classrooms, auditoriums, library buildings and others, in line with the rapid development of this district.

He also congratulated the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim) for successfully providing educational opportunities over the past 30 years.

Earlier in his speech, Jakim director-general Tan Sri Haji Othman Mustapha said 216 Ipdas students would receive their certificates at the convocation.

He said the graduates could use all the knowledge acquired during their study at the institute to help society and develop the country.

Also present were Jakim Sabah Branch director Haji Mat Radzi Haji Mat Ali, State Mufti Datuk Haji Bungsu Aziz Jaafar, Sabah State Religious Affairs Department (Jheains) deputy director Ustaz Sidik Awang Adi, District Officer Haji Yusop Haji Osman, Ipdas principal Ustaz Haji Nurjeli Haji Dais, and heads of state and federal government departments.
