250 STAR members joining Warisan not true
Sabah Par Solidari Tanah Airku (STAR) Bingkor division ques oned Par Warisan Sabah for including 250 STAR members as new Warisan members who submited their entry forms to Warisan president Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal at a gathering with the Keningau community.
KENINGAU: Sabah Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) Bingkor division questioned Parti Warisan Sabah for including 250 STAR members as new Warisan members who submited their entry forms to Warisan president Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal at a friendly gathering with the Keningau Community in Kampung Kauran on Sunday.
“To my knowledge, there are no STAR members joining Warisan as reported in local media,” said STAR vice president I Robert Tawik here yesterday.
He admitted that no STAR members were involved in joining Warisan at a ceremony held at Kampung Kauran last week.
“It is funny and strange,” he added.
Robert, who is also STAR Bingkor Division head, had asked division and branch leaders to investigate the matter, but obviously there had been no leaders and members of the STAR joining Warisan.
He believed that there was participation from Bingkor but not from the STAR nor other opposition parties in Gabungan Sabah.
“I hope with this explanation, it will not happen again,” he said.
On Monday, Umno Keningau committee member Haji Yazid Haji Mohd Hasnan Tawik also denied that 1,500 of its members joined Warisan at the same function on Sunday.
Tawik had said Umno division, especially in Liawan, still had strong support from its members and leaders.
“The Umno division members are still confident of the party’s struggles and divisional leaders, especially division chief Datuk Haji Sairin Karno who is also Assistant Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry.
“Umno members from this division joining Warisan is baseless,” he said.
Former PBS Youth chief Datuk Jake Jikulin Nointin claimed that a total of 1,119 former members of PBS led by him had joined Warisan.
They submitted their entry forms to Shafie led by former Tenom Umno Youth chief Mansur Haji Maidin and former Keningau Umno leaders apart from 250 Star members from Bingkor.
