Selection trial for Sabah SUKMA futsal players early next month

-

KOTA KINABALU: An open selection trial to select men's and women's futsal players to represent Sabah for the next Malaysia Games (SUKMA) in Perak next year, would be held here early next month.

The venue is at Yayasan Sabah futsal arena on December 3 beginning 8am.

All players who are interested are welcome to attend complete with futsal attire and a copy of their MyKad for registration.

However, only those who were born in 1998 or later can join as the age limit is 20 years old.

Sabah FA futsal committee chairman Yamani Hafez Musa said they have already identified a handful of players through the Sabah Futsal League earlier this month (Nov 11-12).

“This selection trial will give a chance to those who were under age for the Sabah Futsal League to try and show their talent.

“We will identify 25 players each for the men's and women's teams to undergo a phase one centralised training beginning early next year,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Hafez urged those who are interested to join, to be mentally and physically ready and he hoped they would turn up at the session early.

Meanwhile, the list of futsal coaches to be involved in SUKMA has been finalised and would be announced when the phase one training session begins in January or February next year.

For players who are interested to join the selection trial, contact Sabah FA futsal committee secretary Azman Soaibah (0168207479).
