KUCHING: CIMB Bank Bhd (CIMB) will offer exciting prizes and it will be hosting fun-filled activities at the Karnival Kewangan Sarawak 2017 held at CityONE Megamall, Kuching.

The event, which is organised by Bank Negara Malaysia, will be held for three days starting from November 24 to 26, 2017, at the exhibition hall at CityONE Megamall from 10am to 10pm.

“Following the success of our KL and Kota Kinabalu Karnival Kewangan, we are proud today to have a premier booth here at the Karnival Kewangan here in Kuching, Sarawak.

“We have a lot of activities here at our booth. Today, if you open a basic account with us, you’ll be given a debit card immediately,” said CIMB Consumer Sales and Distribution head Nor Azmi Yusof.

Aside from that, there are a lot of goodies up for grabs which include cash-back of up to RM200 for a ‘pick-and-mix’ package.

There will also be a competition held every day whereby customers can win attractive vouchers up to RM100 as well as CIMB’s mascot soft toy, Octo. Meanwhile, Nor Azmi highlighted that the karnival is in line with Sarawak’s aim to boost its digital economy.

He said, “With the current initiative embraced by Sarawak’s government whereby it intends to push its digital growth and economy by building highspeed broadband across the state, it jives with the initiative that CIMB is doing now because we are also going into digitalising ourselves.”

Aside from that, Nor Azmi also highlighted that CIMB is the first bank in Malaysia to receive regulatory sandbox approval for e-KYC.

“This e-KYC is a paperless verification system for our customers. It would allow a safe way to apply for credit card online,” he added.

CIMB will also be demonstrating the abilities of its new AI app called CIMB EVA which is a state-of-theart virtual banking assistance by CIMB.

All in, CIMB hopes that through this karnival, CIMB customers would take the opportunity to get to know its products better.

“At the same time, we hope to introduce our latest banking and financial technology and applications to our customers,” Nor Azmi said.
