Naza Italia confident Maserati Levante S will do well
KUALA LUMPUR: Naza Italia Sdn Bhd is confident the newlylaunched petrol-powered Maserati Levante S, which is available in two trims – GranLusso and GranSport – will do well in Malaysia’s luxury motor vehicle market.
Chief operating officer of Naza Italia, the official importer and distributor for Maserati in Malaysia, Farid Sulaiman, said it has sold five units of the turbo-diesel engine Maserati Levante, which were launched in February, 2017.
“We expect to be able to sell more of the model with the launch of the petrol-poweredtwin-turbocharged Levante S,” he told reporters after the launch here yesterday.
The Levante S is being introduced to Malaysia’s luxury sport utility vehicle (SUV) segment at the starting price of RM788,800 (inclusive of local taxes and duties) and includes three-year Standard Warranty coverage with no mileage restriction, plus a Maserati Premium Service Plus of three years, or 60,000 km, whichever comes first.
He said Maserati has replaced the Levante’s hydraulic-power steering with electric-power steering to provide improved handling and driving comfort in the Levante S.
This would also better support the driving modes and enables the newly-introduced Advanced Driving Assistance Systems (ADAS) with more active functions, while retaining the razor-sharp steering feel symbolic of any Maserati.
These functions include Highway Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist and Traffic Sign Recognition.
Meanwhile, Farid said, Naza Italia aimed to maintain its sale of 70 units of Maserati in 2017 as per last year, with the Ghibli being the most popular model. — Bernama
