Christmas celebra on kicks off

The City Hall kick-started the Christmas celebra on here with the launch of Christmas Logo and KK Christmas Fun Ride and Run on Thursday.

KOTA KINABALU: The City Hall kick-started the Christmas celebratio­n here with the launch of Christmas Logo and KK Christmas Fun Ride and Run on Thursday.

Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan congratula­ted the organizers and the citizens of Kota Kinabalu for spending some of their time to be a part of the meaningful meeting.

“This is a programme that resembles unity, understand­ing and tolerance,” Pairin said in his speech when officiatin­g at the event which was attended by more than 2,000 people.

He also expressed hope that the city would continue to receive God’s blessings.

“The purpose of this event is not only about celebratin­g Christmas but it is also about strengthen­ing unity and harmony among the different races, in line with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s vision,” he said.

Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Hj Aman will officially launch the Kota Kinabalu Christmas Celebratio­n on December 11 to 14 at Padang Merdeka.

Also present were Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister cum Minister in charge of DBKK, Datuk Edward Yong Oui Fah, mayor Datuk Yeo Boon Hai and Sabah Council of Churches (SCC) president Bishop Datuk Melter Jiki Tais.
