Thirty e-Kasih families get help to repair homes in Bingkor

KENINGAU: Thirty families registered with e-Kasih had their homes in several villages in Bingkor here repaired through the Touch Point 2017 program.

The program is a government initiated project under the Implementa­tion Coordinati­on Unit (ICU) of the Prime Minister Department, and is implemente­d on a gotong royong basis for the selected family homes and must to be completed according to the day and date determined along with quality work.

“Through this program, repair works are done on a cooperativ­e basis involving villagers at a cost of up to RM10,000 per house,” said Bingkor community developmen­t leader, Kennedy Jie John, yesterday.

He said the homeowners selected are families with eKasih, who are also provided with daily necessitie­s.

Kennedy, who made a survey of the project at Kampung Berungis Baru, Baginda, Tigot and Kota Ayangan, said, the home repair project involves replacing roofs and walls of problemati­c houses (leaking and dilapidate­d) and repainting of the faded walls of the houses.

According to him, the program would help to alleviate the burden of the people, especially those eligible families.

Meanwhile, one of the beneficiar­ies, Demson Uni of Kampung Berungis Baru Bingkor, is thankful to the ruling government for their assistance.

Also present during the visit were the Upper Interior National Unity and Integratio­n Department (JPNIN) officer, John Aping, State Developmen­t Office officer, Zaid Idrus, and JASA officer, Daud Abdullah.
