Wong is new chairman of KK Foochow Association
KOTA KINABALU: Deputy chairman of the Kota Kinabalu Foochow Association (KKFA), Dato’ Wong Hai Ming was elected as new chairman of the association during its election of office bearers for its 18th executive committee at Wisma Foochow in Luyang on Monday night.
The top post became vacant after the incumbent chairman, Dr Ling Fii Yeu stepped down due to the twoterm of four years of limitation.
Kong Sing Kiet was elected as new deputy chairman while the five elected vice chairmen are Stephen Ling Kah Kiong, ing Hee Leong, Ling King Nang, Ngu Woo Dung and Lau Yew Kiong.
Simon Ting Ching Sing and Law Kah Kuok were appointed as new secretary general and treasurer general respectively.
Two new faces - Wong Bak Kion and Lau Kah Leh - won their respective posts of assistant secretary general and assistant treasurer general uncontested.
John Lau Ung Siong remained as general affairs officer and his assistant is Tiong Ing Sen.
David Yu Chow Wan and Patrick Wong Kee Lung also remained as youth chief and assistant youth chief respectively.
Shelley Wong Sat Key and Ting Sing Ngouk were relected as women affairs chief and assistant chief respectively.
David Yu and Shelley Wong are automatic vice chairman by virtue of the posts as youth chief and women chief, respectively.
Election committee head Simon Ting said the 37 new executive committee members won uncontested after the December 2 nomination deadline.
