Gabungan Sabah starts poll preparation in Kinarut, Papar

-

PAPAR: Gabungan Sabah Papar Division has started serious preparation for the 14th General Election (GE14) which is expected to be held in either March or April next year by holding a walkabout in Kinarut and Papar townships on Saturday and Sunday.

GEMA Youth Chief of the Gabungan Sabah coalition, Jamain Sarudin, said the people wanted a one-to-one contest after witnessing failure of the opposition in toppling the Barisan Nasional in the 13th general election.

Jamain also said that the sentiment was very strong that Gabungan Sabah had to work hard in order to win the hearts of people.

In clarifying the meaning of oneto-one contest, Jamain reiterated the coming general election would see the battle focus between a Malaya Agenda or the Borneo Agenda.

He said the collaboration and unity shown by the four component parties formalized and united under a coalition had received a positive response and welcomed by the people.

The agenda of the walkabout, according by Jamain, would continue aggressively in their campaign and mission for the coming GE14 and to make known to the people that Gabungan Sabah is an alternative government.

Its aim was to explain the 15 core struggles of Gabungan Sabah to the people, which include restoring the state rights as enshrined in Malaysia Agreement (MA63), political autonomy, economic plan, land reform policy, oil rights, resolve illegal immigrants or ‘Project IC’ issue, GST, state security and Sabah IC.

Among the leaders who took part in the walkabout were Gabungan Sabah Secretary and deputy president of SAPP, Edward Dagul, Party Harapan Rakyat Sabah Papar Division head Datuk James Ghani.
