TAMBUNAN: Parti Solidarity Tanah Airku (STAR) president Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan said the party’s mission was to win the 14th General Election and form the Sabah government.

He said this was to enable the party to carry out the people’s vision to restore Sabah’s statehood and independence and to build it as a united, successful, prosperous, progressive, safe and bright nation.

“This also creates an atmosphere for outstanding Sabahans to become entrepreneurs, artists, scientists, sportsmen, thinkers, leaders and outstanding Sabahans,” he said in his keynote address when opening the party’s First Tri Annual Delegates Meeting at Gapari hall Kampung Kiawayan here on Saturday.

He said the party would also adopt a revolutionary change to be introduced on August 31 (Independence Day), create seven new residencies and new internal states within Sabah, a new administrative system and digital economy (cashless economy).

In addition, he said they would establish the Ministry of Security Tanah Air, new approaches to land administration, NCR land issued with field registers and Sabah land with priority to Sabahans, especially the young generation.

Jeffrey said they would create a Land Tribunal for solving land problem without going to court, establish a Native Land Foundation to assist the native economy, Sabah Identity Card for Sabah and Resident IC for nonSabahans. “STAR will also introduce a global concept of New Education Policy and form a panel to correct Malaysia’s history in writing, the Ministry of Land and Oil Resources will be activated, establishing the Rural Economic Development Institute (REDI) for the purpose of human development and empowerment of the rural economy.

“STAR will have power programs for the younger generation, nurturing and defending the Dayak and Native customs across Sabah and Borneo with the United Nations’ Recognition, creating a community home, basic amenities for all and sports academies.

“We will create the Institute of Human Development and Leadership, Downstream Oil and Gas Industry in Sabah, insurance for all, and will introduce the Sabahan solidarity body and reactivate the IGC,” he said.

He pointed out that Gabungan Sabah and STAR would bring about many changes to the state such as setting up the financial system-ASAS (New Mechanism of Revenue Collection), collecting revenues (together with Sarawak), a new cabinet line-up and new policy as stipulated in Article VIII MA63.

“In the administration of Sabah, we will appoint a governor and exco residency.

“Long-term plan is a new development policy based on basic facilities and industry, state and federal relations, expansion of ports, rail and land port, economic relations with neighbouring countries. Sabah will become the world’s tourism hub, beef up security issue, set up inter-committee between the governments of Malaya, Sabah and Sarawak.

“Establishing a new federal government and balancing its status based on the merger of the three entities as equal partners, and we will create a new Malaysian constitution,” he said.

Jeffrey said Gabungan Sabah, the Sabah new government will introduce 2023 Sabah’s Vision with a focus on power programs for the youth (men and women).

“We want a new and just Malaysia based on a confederation of the earlier four entities, Malaysia, Sabah Sarawak and Singapore, and now three entities (after Singapore left in 1965) Sabah, Sarawak and Malaya as equal partners,” Jeffrey said.

“The future of Sabah is in our hands, win or lose it depends on how we work. I hope the people of Sabah will join the revolution for a new Sabah.

“We are on the right track and together we renew our commitment and strive to fight for our people, rights and future with full conviction so that people will be in favour of us in this 14th general election,” he said.

About 2,000 delegates and observers from all over Sabah, including the STAR Supreme Council members and Gabungan Sabah leaders attended the meeting.
