Lucky first visit to KL Tower for Sabahan

KUALA LUMPUR: The first visit to KL Tower yesterday brings luck to Ahamat Omar and his family when they became the one-millionth visitor for 2017.

Ahamat, 55, from Papar, Sabah described the surprise as a double joy for his family after attended his son’s convocatio­n ceremony in Putrajaya, last Saturday.

“I am grateful and feel so lucky to be selected as the onemillion­th visitor, and we thank the KL Tower management for this celebratio­n,” he told reporters at a ceremony to celebrate the KL Tower onemillion­th visitor, at KL Tower here yesterday.

In the event, Ahamat and family took home more than RM6,500 in prizes in the form of RM1,000 in cash, a Ferrari watch, dinner vouchers at Atmosphere 360 and several entrance tickets including for the Observatio­n Deck and Sky Deck.

Meanwhile, KL Tower chief executive officer Meor Shahril Anuar Ahmad Rathuan said the event was an appreciati­on for the visitors who had supported all activities and events at the tallest tower in Southeast Asia.

“This is not the first time, we had celebrated the lucky visitors from 1997 to 2004. We want to make KL Tower a must visit destinatio­n in the capital among the local visitors,” said Meor Shahril Anuar who expected more than one million visitors of KL Tower next year.

He said, a total of 16.5 million local and internatio­nal tourists visited the seventh tallest telecommun­ication tower in the world since it was opened in 1996. - Bernama
