Umno, BN should offer great package to lure support from young voters

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) should offer a great package to the people, especially the young voters, to ensure that its administration in the country will remain relevant in the future.

When making the call, Permatang Pauh Umno Division chief Datuk Mohd Zaidi Mohd Said said Umno and BN should know what the young voters want and offer them a package they could not resist, not only in terms of education and placement at higher education institution, but also in sports and recreational activities, such as futsal and badminton.

“Job opportunities must also be multiplied and not to forget, the high speed internet access. These aspects are important for the young people.

“If Umno and BN paid no attention to this, the young voters will stray away from the party,” he told reporters after the “Anda Tanya Kita Jawab” programme organised by Umno-Online, which was also attended by Umno Information chief Tan Sri Annuar Musa, Federal Territories Umno chief Datuk Mohd Razlan Mohamad Rafii and Prime Minister’s Special Officer Isham Jalil.

Mohd Zaidi, or better known as Cikgu Zaidi, said the wind of change to lure more young people to support Umno and BN should be intensified to enable the party to retain power.

His view was shared by Mohd Razlan, who wanted more young leaders to be given the opportunity to prove their capability to lead and to be fielded as candidates in the 14th general election.

“If the doors are not open to the young people, they will not be interested, let alone to pay any attention to the party. This may sound unpopular, but it should be done for the survival of Umno and the government,” he said. - Bernama
