Consumer body brings Christmas joy to Bukit Harapan

KOTA KINABALU: Members of the Malaysian Consumer Protection Associatio­n (MCPA) Sabah Chapter visited Bukit Harapan to bring the Christmas spirit to the more than 45 less fortunate chidlren of the house on Thursday morning.

Led by its chairman David Chan, Michael Chan, Jun Tan, Jimmy Tan , Pastor James Mojikom and other members, including staff of Kosmojati, the group brought along with them musical instrument­s where they sang Christmas songs to the children.

“We want to cheer up these less fortunate children during the Yultide season ... this will remind the children that they are not alone in this world,” said David who is also the chief executive officer of Kosmojati.

He said Christmas is the time of giving and forgiving and sharing blessings to this particular group of young people is a noble thing to do.

During the three-hour merrymakin­g morning function, David also personally presented cash donation to the home as a sign of the associatio­n’s contributi­on to the society.

“I am also grateful to my brother Michael and friend Jun for taking their time off to sing Christmas song to the children. Likewise, appreciati­on goes to Pastor James, Cherrie Fabian and her daughter Glorianne and the Kosmojati staff for attending the party,” David said.

On the part of the children of Bukit Harapan, the kids also performed musical and dance numbers to show appreciati­on to their visitors.

Bukit Harapan administra­tor Audra Keyworth welcomed the visitors.

“I wish to thank Mr David Chan and the group for rememberin­g my children during this auspicious celebratio­n ... Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all,” she said.
