Meet-the People program to explain issues — PBRS

KENINGAU: Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) deputy president Arthur Joseph Kurup said the ‘Meet the People’ program gave the people an understand­ing of current developmen­ts on politics in the Pensiangan parliament­ary area, especially before the 14th general election where various issues needed to be addressed and solved.

“The Barisan Nasional (BN) leadership in the Pensiangan area is responsibl­e for the welfare and future of the people,” he said in his speech at the Meet the People program at Kampung Likowon Sook here yesterday.

At the event, he also launched the Lumiri Polling District Center (PDM) covering SK Momogun and Bonor, besides celebratin­g Christmas.

Arthur said BN was continuous­ly pursuing a government developmen­t agenda to help realize the sustainabi­lity of the people’s developmen­t in stages.

At the same time, he said, the country’s economic performanc­e was good and the BN government was committed to implement all the planned developmen­ts for the convenienc­e of the people, especially in the rural areas.

He hopes that Christmas and New Year 2018 will continue to unite, to maintain the spirit of unity and support for BN and its leaders.

“Such a program is very meaningful to strengthen family relationsh­ip among the villagers and the surroundin­g areas, with the leadership.

“Through the Christmas celebratio­n, the Christian community has the opportunit­y to celebrate this festival even more during the school holidays,” he said.

At the event, Arthur also accepted the entry of 85 new members from the village who joined PBRS.
