Chinese Cultural Village Exhibition at Likas Complex Feb 3
KOTA KINABALU: The Cultural Village Exhibition 2018 organized by the United Sabah Chinese Communities Association of Kota Kinabalu (USCCAKK) will be held at Likas Sports Complex corridor on Saturday, February 3 starting from 8.30 am until 6.00 pm.
Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Kota Kinabalu, Liang Caide, will officiate at the opening ceremon�� of the exhibition.
USCCAKK president, Datu�� Susan Wong Siew Guen, extended a welcome to Kota Kinabalu fol��s to visit the Cultural Village Exhibition held in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebrations where the�� could see and sample a variet�� of Chinese teas and pastries.
She said, the 1�� associations under USCCAKK would be showcasing different Chinese New Year pastries and renowned Chinese teas unique to their respective clans or ancestral hometowns.
“After the judges and special guests have sampled the pastries and teas, members of the public are welcome to purchase from the stalls and have a taste of what the different Chinese clans have to offer.”
Wong said, the Cheongsam catwal�� contest is another highlight of the event which is expected to bring much excitement to the crowd.
She said the objective of organizing the Cultural Village Exhibition is to enhance the public’s understanding of the customs and cuisine of the Chinese clans.
She also than��ed the strong support from Kota Kinabalu Ho����ien Association, Kota Kinabalu Ha����a Association, Sze Yi Association West Coast, Sabah, Hainan Association Kota Kinabalu, Kota Kinabalu Teochew Association, Sabah San Chiang Association, Kota Kinabalu Kwong Siew Association, Tai Poo Communit�� Association of Sabah, Lung Yen Association Kota Kinabalu, Sabah Northern Chinese Association, Foochow Association Kota Kinabalu, Sabah Ann Koai Association, Sabah Eng Choon Association, Kota Kinabalu Hin Ann Association and Sabah Nam Ann Association for ensuring the preservation of the rich Chinese culture through the event in Kota Kinabalu and Sabah.
The Cultural Village Exhibition will be open from 8.30 am to 6 pm. The public are welcome to visit and admission is free.
