Bondulu Children's Home receives RM15,000 aid
TAMBUNAN: Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan presented a contribution of RM15,000 to the management of Bondulu Children's Home at Toboh here yesterday.
The donation was in conjunction with Pairin's visit to the home for the Christmas Day celebration. The contribution, which was the proceeds from the collection of the Tambunan State Assemblyman Cup Golf tournament last year and the previous year, were handed over to the Home Manager, Sister Germaine Angkangon.
Sister Germaine disclosed that the home has 65 children and is managed by her assisted by Sister Doris.
She also thanked Pairin for his contribution and concern for the occupants of the home.
At the event, Pairin, who is also Infrastructure Development Minister, also handed over Christmas money to the children of the home.
Pairin who is also Keningau Member of Parliament hoped that more non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and private sector in the state would come forward and contribute to the home.
Also present at the ceremony were Political Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water, Datuk Daniel Kinsik, former Sabah State Legislative Assembly Speaker, Datuk Lawrence Gimbang, District Officer, Thomas Logijin, Political Secretary of the Infrastructure Development Ministry, Welfredoline Jakil, District Chief, OKK Philip Datuk Kitingan and Tambunan Community Development Leader, Silverius Bruno.
