‘Heart and Greed’ guest star Nora Miao had affairs with Bruce Lee and Pat Poon
HONG KONG: Fans of Bruce Lee might remember his frequent costar Nora Miao, who has appeared opposite him in films like ‘The Big Boss’ and ‘The Way of the Dragon’.
The former actress has returned to Hong Kong showbiz. TVB has invited Nora to guest star in the threequel to TVB’s hit series ‘Heart and Greed’. Nora appears in four episodes.
Nora has been more or less out of showbiz since the late 1980’s, and the 65-year-old now lives in Toronto, Canada permanently.
Nora made her debut in 1971, starring in films produced by Golden Harvest. Best known for being Bruce Lee’s frequent collaborator, Nora is also the only actress to share an onscreen kiss with Bruce, for the 1972 film ‘Fist of Fury’. According to news reports, Nora and Bruce eventually started a relationship, despite the fact that Bruce was already married to Linda Lee Cadwell. Nora never denied these reports.
In 1987, Nora started an affair with Pat Poon during the filming of ATV’s ‘The Rise and Fall of Qing Dynasty’. According to rumours at the time, Nora was the reason why Pat’s wife convinced him to emigrate to Vancouver. Although Nora and Pat are no longer romantically linked, the two have remained friends, and have been close confidants for over 30 years.
Perhaps she’s doing a homage to herself, but Nora’s character in ‘Heart and Greed’ reflects her own personal life.
Playing Ha Yu’s ex-lover, Nora comes back into his life years later, perhaps to wreck havoc on his family.
