Dr M never respected Sabah rights in MA63 — Raymond

-

KOTA KINABALU: The Pakatan Harapan (PH) in Sabah has been supportive of the State’s special rights in the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).

Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Raymond Tan Shu Kiah said that PH in Sabah even came up with a manifesto, which he described as a “good manifesto”.

Unfortunately, he said former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed (who will be the interim prime minister if PH takes over Putrajaya in the next election), disagreed with MA63 and the manifesto.

“DAP (Democratic Action Party) brings to KL, Mahathir says no,” he said.

Raymond added that he agreed with and supported the PH in Sabah in protecting the special rights of Sabah and Sarawak.

He said that he remembered under Dr Mahathir’s leadership, Sabah underwent very little development as no priority was given to the State.

“I cannot talk to him,” said Raymond of Dr Mahathir.

Aside from Dr Mahathir, Lim Kit Siang also disagreed with the MA63, he said.

He also said that Dr Mahathir had never respected Sabah’s rights as stated in the MA63.

Raymond said this to reporters after witnessing the signing ceremony for the sale and purchase of Pozzalan between EcoOils Sdn Bhd and Cement Industries (Sabah) Sdn Bhd at Le Meridien yesterday.
