Media Fun Run in Keningau Feb 24 gets DO's full support
KENINGAU: Keningau district officer Haji Yusop Haji Osman has praised the media in the district for giving their full cooperation towards the success of the Visit Keningau Year 2018 (VKY2018) program by organizing the Media Fun Run next month.
He said this noble effort should be emulated by other nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) in the district as an initiative to promote Keningau as a tourist destination this year, which would contribute to the economic growth of this district.
“At the same time, it would also give the local people an opportunity to increase their income and economic well-being through sales of local products to visiting tourists,” he said when receiving a courtesy call by a delegation from the Keningau Journalist Association (KJA) on Wednesday.
Yusop, as chairman of the VKY2018 committee, expressed his full support for this noble effort and believes that public participation in the Media Fun Run with its theme ‘Run For Unity' will promote the spirit of unity among the people taking part.
He also expressed his gratitude to the State National Unity and Integration Department (JPNIN) for their involvement.
Yusop noted the commitment of Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Tan Sri Joseph Kurup to flag off the event on February 24 at the town field was a good sign.
The involvement of leaders and heads of department in the program, he said, demonstrates continuous collaboration and support for the VKY2018 program.
“I'm very confident that all the supplementary events in conjunction with this program, which include aerobics, exhibitions and entertainment, will attract more participation on that day.
“I am also encouraging petty traders who wish to carry on their business on that day to contact the organizing committee to fix the location where they can operate their business,” he said.
