T7, China’s CCTEB in JV for local projects
KUALA LUMPUR: T7 Global Bhd (T7) has teamed up with China Construction Third Engineering Bureau Co Ltd (CCTEB) to bid for infrastructure and construction projects in Malaysia.
T7 said its unit, T7 Kemuncak Sdn Bhd (T7 Kemuncak) and China Construction Third Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd (CCTE Malaysia), a subsidiary of CCTEB, have established a joint-venture (JV) company known as T7 China Construction Third Engineering Sdn Bhd.
“The company will work together to bid for the East Coast Rail Line (ECRL), mass rapid transit (MRT), light rail transit (LRT) projects and construction business in Malaysia.
“T7 Kemuncak is the majority shareholder with 51 per cent shareholding and CCTE Malaysia with 49 per cent shareholding,” said T7 in a statement yesterday.
T7 Executive Deputy Chairman Tan Sri Tan Kean Soon said: “We feel honoured to collaborate with CCTE Malaysia; and believe this strategic alliance will bring T7 to a global scale, particularly in the infrastructure and construction business.”
CCTE Malaysia is an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of China State Construction Engineering Corporation Ltd held via CCTEB in Malaysia, a construction and real estate conglomerate in China with extensive experience and expertise in buildings, design and engineering, industrial facilities and infrastructure projects. —
