T7, China’s CCTEB in JV for local projects

KUALA LUMPUR: T7 Global Bhd (T7) has teamed up with China Constructi­on Third Engineerin­g Bureau Co Ltd (CCTEB) to bid for infrastruc­ture and constructi­on projects in Malaysia.

T7 said its unit, T7 Kemuncak Sdn Bhd (T7 Kemuncak) and China Constructi­on Third Engineerin­g (M) Sdn Bhd (CCTE Malaysia), a subsidiary of CCTEB, have establishe­d a joint-venture (JV) company known as T7 China Constructi­on Third Engineerin­g Sdn Bhd.

“The company will work together to bid for the East Coast Rail Line (ECRL), mass rapid transit (MRT), light rail transit (LRT) projects and constructi­on business in Malaysia.

“T7 Kemuncak is the majority shareholde­r with 51 per cent shareholdi­ng and CCTE Malaysia with 49 per cent shareholdi­ng,” said T7 in a statement yesterday.

T7 Executive Deputy Chairman Tan Sri Tan Kean Soon said: “We feel honoured to collaborat­e with CCTE Malaysia; and believe this strategic alliance will bring T7 to a global scale, particular­ly in the infrastruc­ture and constructi­on business.”

CCTE Malaysia is an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of China State Constructi­on Engineerin­g Corporatio­n Ltd held via CCTEB in Malaysia, a constructi­on and real estate conglomera­te in China with extensive experience and expertise in buildings, design and engineerin­g, industrial facilities and infrastruc­ture projects. —
