JCI Luyang inks MoU with HK youth associatio­n

KOTA KINABALU: Junior Chamber Internatio­nal (JCI) Luyang has signed a memorandum of understand­ing (MoU) with the Hong Kong Taipo Youth Associatio­n for the facilitati­ng efficiency and coordinate­d collaborat­ion partnershi­p.

This symbolizes the relationsh­ip between both associatio­ns in developing and expanding collaborat­ive projects and programmes related to environmen­tal conservati­on and entreprene­urship that empower young people to create positive change and expand global network.

The MoU signing ceremony was held during JCI Luyang’s Charter Night held on Sunday at E-West Banquet Hall here.

It was signed by JCI Luyang President Gordon Pan and Eric Tam, a member of Hong Kong Taipo Youth Associatio­n.

The JCI Luyang Board of Directors for 2018 are President Gordon Pan, Vice President (Internatio­nal) Samantha Ong, Vice President (Local) Terrence Chia, Immediate Past President Josephine Wong, Honorary Secretary Alexander Chin, Honorary Treasurer Keffrey Yeoh, General Legal Counsel Moses Wong and Commision Directors Allen Wong, Chong Yung Yiow, Albert Pan and Hendry Chin.

Five new members were inducted during the ceremony to join the associatio­n and ready to serve do something for the community.

JCI Senator Datuk Pang Yuk Ming was the guest of honour at the charter night.

Other guests included JCI Malaysia National National Executives Vice President Alvis Loo, presidents and members from various JCI Chapters around Sabah and Sarawak.

In his presidenti­al speech, Pan said that JCI is not only about serving the community, it is also a training and developmen­t platform to create positive change.

His theme for this year, “With Great Power, Comes Great Responsibi­lity” which carries a simple meaning, “if you have the ability to do something, make sure you do it for the good of others”, and “If you can stop something bad from happening, please do it!”

He disclosed that apart from pushing the signature project “Save our Ocean” to a new milestone, in 2018, JCI Luyang will also focus more on business developmen­t and internatio­nal affairs.

He wishes to uplift the image of JCI Luyang not only locally but internatio­nally.
