Orange staff visit three children’s homes

-

KOTA KINABALU: Orange Convenient Store last December launched a charity event named “Sharing Christmas”.

“Christmas is a time we share the love and it is a season of giving, we must not forget the orphans, we must share our loves with them as well,” said Dr Joseph Koh, the Chief Operating Officer of Orange Convenient Store, one of the member companies of TCT Trading Sdn Bhd.

“The objective of the event is to encourage the public to share our love with the orphans. This event has successfully raised more than 2,000 gifts and created an impactful awareness to the public about the marginalized children,” he added.

On January 13, TCT Trading Sdn Bhd visited three children's homes, which are Bakti Harapan (Inanam), Care Haven (Likas) and Caring for the Future Malaysia (Papar).

More than 40 TCT staff joined the visits.

“All the children are well trained, independent and very disciplined, the warden of the children's homes did a very good job,” said Serrene Tan, the managing director of TCT Trading.

During the visits, there were games, encouragement speech from Serrene, sharing from the persons in charge of the children's homes and singing. After that, children happily opened up all the gifts.

“Some of the children run an organic farm at the backyards of children's homes, to plant organic vegetable and fruits, including durian. When the produce are ready, they will sell them. They are young entrepreneurs!” said Koh.

TCT Trading will launch a new member card for One Stop Superstore in February 2018. One Stop Superstore is also a member company of TCT Trading.
