SANDAKA: The Malaysia Crime Prevention Foundation (MCPF) Sandakan liaison committee is committed to implement many crime prevention programs in this district this year.
Its chairman, Dr. K H Tan, said among the programmes planned are cooperation arrangement with the crime prevention clubs of all schools in Sandakan with the blessing of the Sandakan education department.
“We are aiming, through this approach, to get close to all the students in the schools so that we can effectively disseminate information and awareness on crime.
“Apart from the schools, we also aim to organise talks or courses at higher education institutions here in Sandakan, such as Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), Sandakan Polytechnic and Maktab Rendah Sains Mara (MRSM),” he said.
In the meantime, MCPF Sandakan will be collaborating with other stakeholders such as the National Anti-Drug Agency (Sandakan) and the police to assist in disseminating information and awareness on crime and drugs to the communities at large.
