MCPF S’kan to implement many crime prevention programs this year

SANDAKA: The Malaysia Crime Prevention Foundation (MCPF) Sandakan liaison committee is committed to implement many crime prevention programs in this district this year.

Its chairman, Dr. K H Tan, said among the programmes planned are cooperatio­n arrangemen­t with the crime prevention clubs of all schools in Sandakan with the blessing of the Sandakan education department.

“We are aiming, through this approach, to get close to all the students in the schools so that we can effectivel­y disseminat­e informatio­n and awareness on crime.

“Apart from the schools, we also aim to organise talks or courses at higher education institutio­ns here in Sandakan, such as Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), Sandakan Polytechni­c and Maktab Rendah Sains Mara (MRSM),” he said.

In the meantime, MCPF Sandakan will be collaborat­ing with other stakeholde­rs such as the National Anti-Drug Agency (Sandakan) and the police to assist in disseminat­ing informatio­n and awareness on crime and drugs to the communitie­s at large.

Tan, who is also vice chairman of MCPF Sabah, said this to reporters at the presentati­on of MCPF Sandakan liaison committee certificat­es to seven individual­s, including its new committee member DSP Radin Hazlen.

The other person who received the certificat­e was Sandakan education officer Sh. Mahada Sharif Attar, who is also vice chairman of MCPF Sandakan.
