Three teams undefeated at Penampang Rhinos Basketball tourney
KOTA KINABALU: Three teams remain undefeated after four days of competition at the Penampang Rhinos Basketball Open Tournament which is ongoing at the Kota Kinabalu Community Hall here.
Ujana Kingfisher A, along with Sanaja Sdn Bhd and Kee Meei Enterprise are the main contenders in this six-team competition. They each notched three match wins since the tournament began on Sunday.
Kee Meei Enterprise won their last game 92-55 against Wolf on Wednesday, while Sanaja Sdn Bhd beat AC Enterprise 79-59. Ujana Kingfisher B were also on the cards that night. They beat Classic Holidays Sdn Bhd 72-63.
Earlier, Ujana Kingfisher A beat AC Enterprise. The final score (91-49) suggested that they were clearly no match for their dominance. In other matches on Tuesday, Ujana B beat Wolf 56-48, while Kee Meei overcame Classic Holidays 76-56.
Earlier matches also saw the three teams skipping to the same tune. Kee Meei made easy pickings of AC Enterprise (7838), while Ujana A and Sanaja beat Classic Holidays and Wolf respectively.
On Sunday Ujana A beat Ujana B by a 10-point margin (67-57), while Sanaja edged Classic Holidays by a single point (7069).
Wolf, who scored their only win against AC Enterprise at the tournament’s opening night (5648) will have to dig deep to find their earlier form if they want to get back into the game.
Last night Ujana A and Kee Meei met their biggest challenge in a face-off with one another, while Sanaja had a date with Ujana B after Wolf took on Classic Holidays.
