Is Christian Combs the next big male model?
CHRISTIAN Combs, son of hiphop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, is the latest up-and-coming catwalk star to land a contract with the prestigious modelling agency IMG.
The 19-year-old star has been snapped up by the agency following the release of his breakout fashion campaign — Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring/ Summer 2018 edition — earlier this month. The agency used a photo from the project — which was shot in Venice by The Morelli Brothers and sees Combs rocking a maroon tuxedo and sneakers while cruising the city in a gondola — to announce its new signing via Instagram. It captioned the image simply: “Now Representing” alongside a star emoji and the hashtag “#IMGstars.”
The move marks a big month for Combs, who opened Dolce & Gabbana’s Autumn/Winter 2018 “King’s Angels” show at Milan Men’s Fashion Week earlier this month. The model, who shared the runway with several other famous offspring including James Marsden’s son Jack, Pierce Brosnan’s son Paris and Jude Law’s son Rafferty, also walked in the Italian house’s menswear shows last year.
IMG is home to some of the biggest fashion models in the industry, including Alessandra Ambrosio, Gigi Hadid, and Gisele. It also counts budding male models Presley Gerber and Lucky Blue Smith on its books.
Off the catwalk, Combs is a rising rap and hip-hop star, performing under the name “King Combs.” His latest single, “Feeling Savage”, features Smooky Margielaa and was released back in December. — Relaxnews
