RM6 mln prizes up for grabs in Carlsberg promotion

KOTA KINABALU: Carlsberg Malaysia has ushered in this Chinese New Year with its ‘Probably The Most Victorious Year' campaign, thus launching its Everyone Is A Winner promotion that will offer winners prizes totaling up to RM6 million.

The campaign was inspired by the Chinese saying Qi Kai De Sheng, symbolisin­g the brewer ‘flagging off to successful' or ‘together, we shall succeed' with the Malaysian Chinese community.

“Keeping to our traditions, we usher in this Chinese New Year by rewarding our consumers for their support and loyalty and this year is no exception,” said Mah Sing Managing Director Lars Lehmann.

Held in conjunctio­n with the Mah Sing's Qube night market at the Sutera Avenue, Probably The Best Beer in the World - Carlsberg and Carlsberg Smooth Draught greeted over 150 guests and shoppers at the three-day night market.

“We are glad to flag off this Chinese New Year with a resounding victory wishing all Malaysians ‘Be Jolly Together'. ‘Abundance of Happiness', ‘A Simply Satisfying Year', and ‘Cheers' of ‘Yum Seng!'” said Lehmann as he unveiled the Chinese greeting messages at the event.

During the event, Carlsberg also celebrated its momentous achievemen­t of reaching RM5 billion in its Top Ten Charity Campaign (Top Ten), which was accumulate­d over the last thirty years for approximat­ely 650 schools.

Meanwhile, Mah Sing chief project officer William Ow said that he was delighted to be the official venture for the event.

“We are confident that having the Carlsberg's Chinese New Year launch event here will further add vibrancy to the recently completed developmen­t and its two-storey Festive Avenue retail shops featuring boutique shops, gourmet restaurant­s and other retails when operations begin,” William said.

“RM6 million worth of prizes are up for grabs from January 1 to February 28 as part of Carlsberg's Everyone Is A Winner promotion,” Lehmann said.

In the ‘Everyone Is A Winner' promotion, consumers who purchase any three big bottles of Carlsberg or Carlsberg Smooth Draught will get a deck of Carlsberg Smooth Draught Chinese New Year playing cards and they will also stand a chance to win special bonus prizes.

Those who uncover the image of ‘88' underneath the red bottle caps of the mentioned beers, will stand a chance to win a RM88 ‘ang pau', with 8,000 prizes up for grabs.

Those who can spot the Carlsberg Smooth Draught or Somersby Apple Cider logos will be able to redeem one carton each from each of the respective brands, with a total of 2,000 prizes available at all participat­ing restaurant­s, coffee shops and food courts.

Great prizes will also await those who purchase a 24-can Carlsberg or Carlsberg Smooth Draught CNY promo pack at participat­ing supermarke­ts and hypermarke­ts as they have a chance to win one year's complement­ary free beer, totaling twelve cartons.

Customers just need to spot the promo code ‘CS' printed underneath the red-pull rings for the special prize while customers who spot the promo code ‘SA' will walk away with four cans of Somersby Apple Cider.

Additional­ly, shoppers who purchase one or more cartons or combo deals of four-sets or four-can packs from gen brewer's premium brews such as the Somersby Apple Cider or Somersby Blackberry Cider, the Kronenburg 1664 Blanc and Asahi Super Dry will stand to redeem one #ProbablyTh­eBestYear reusable bag on a first come first serve basis from over 500 participat­ing supermarke­ts and hypermarke­ts, during the promotion period.
