JCI Sabah organises FreeMarket project

-

KOTA KINABALU: People say that nothing in life is free but what if you could actually take anything you like without having to pay a single cent for it?

It may sound too good to be true, but that is what the FreeMarket is all about. As its name suggests, the market has a concept similar to a regular flea market, except that everything you see there can be yours for free.

Three NGOs mainly JCI Kota Kinabalu, JCI Intan and JCI Penampang jointly organised the FreeMarket project at Sekolah Kebangsaan Togudon, Penampang yesterday. This is a reflection of the continued effort of JCI to be more inclusive and help rural communities in the state.

Among items donated in the FreeMarket were stationary, toys, books, clothes and food. The organisers received donations from the public and all donations in kind were given out to more than 100 people in need around the area.

Gansiul @Alfred Bin Girang, Deputy Chairman Kg Togudon was also present to witness the project and expressed his gratitude that JCI Area Sabah was creating impactful and meaningful projects that make a difference in their community.

In the current day where prices of items are only going up and everyone is pinching on their budget, the FreeMarket might be a blessing for those who are in need.

JCI Kota Kinabalu, JCI Intan and JCI Penampang all expressed that this is only the first series of community projects that they have planned, and to watch out for more information on upcoming community projects from their respective Facebook pages.
