500 senior citizens to receive ang pow, hamper
KOTA KINABALU: Everise Ventures Sdn Bhd (EVSB), the management company for Sandakan Turf Club (STC) will carry out its annual charity do in conjunction with the coming Chinese New Year celebration on February 5.
It will be conducted at the Lido Sqaure located along Jalan Penampang here, at 1pm. The annual program aims chiefly to bring cheer to the underprivileged elderly folks during the festive season, in line with the company’s 24 years long tradition of giving back to the community, as well as in support of the government’s call for a caring society.
Under the program, the company will be giving out ang pow and gift hamper to 500 qualified underprivileged senior citizens aged 65 and above.
President of the company, Tan Sri (Dr) T. C. Goh, emphasized and called on those who were interested and wished to participate in the program to come forward to register themselves at the company’s headquarters at Wisma STC, located at No. 12, Lorong Tenggiling 4, Jalan Maktab Gaya, Luyang, 88300 Kota Kinabalu.
The registration exercise commences on January 26 from 7am onwards, on a first-come-first-served basis until the quota is fully taken up.
Goh urged those senior citizens who are less needy to give a chance to those who are more in need of such aid.
EVSB senior officials and agents including its chairman, Datuk Yap Pak Leong and Goh will be present at the occasion to present the ang pow and gift hamper to the participants on February 5, at Lido Square, Kota Kinabalu.
