Spurned teen attacks ex-girlfriend over rejection

-

LIMBANG: A jilted teenager physically attacked his exgirlfriend after she refused his request for them to get back together.

District police chief Supt Mohd Bukhori Saffai said the incident took place when the 19-year-old boy showed up at the girl’s house around 8.40pm on Sunday

“He had asked the girl, aged 18, to become his girlfriend again. When she refused, he flew into a rage and physically assaulted her,” he told reporters yesterday.

The teen is said to have slapped the girl, pulled her hair and grabbed her by the neck, and smashed her mobile phone before departing the scene.

Police are now hunting for the suspect, while the girl was sent to Limbang Hospital for a precautionary check-up.

Separately, a technician lodged a police report claiming he was assaulted by a group of unknown men in the parking lot of Limbang Airport.

The victim claimed he did not know his attackers or their motive, and was left with bruises on his face, back and left hand.

Mohd Bukhori said police are investigating the matter under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.

In another case, the OCPD revealed the arrest of a jobless 19-year-old male for drug possession.

He said the suspect, from Kampung Limpaong, was nabbed at a budget hotel here by a police team and found in possession of Syabu worth about RM150.

The suspect, who tested positive for drugs, is being investigated under Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
