Curtin Info Day in KK Jan 28

KOTA KINABALU: School-leavers in Sabah interested to enrol in foundation or degree courses at Curtin University, Malaysia (Curtin Malaysia) are invited to attend the university’s Curtin Info Day recruitmen­t event at Pacific Sutera Hotel here on January 28 from 1pm to 5pm.

Admission is free of charge. Furthermor­e, mystery gifts will be given to those submitting on-the-spot applicatio­ns on the day or who have submitted applicatio­ns prior to the event.

The intake for the first semester is now in progress with classes for undergradu­ate programmes commencing on February 26 and foundation programmes on March 26, this year.

The Curtin Info Day aims to provide potential students and their parents with all the necessary informatio­n required regarding admissions, courses, loans and scholarshi­ps.

Lecturers from the faculties of Engineerin­g & Science, Business and Humanities will also be present to help them make informed decisions about choice of courses and enrolment.

They can also find out more about scholarshi­ps and loans available, including the Curtin Malaysia Merit Scholarshi­ps for school leavers with outstandin­g results in the SPM, STPM, O-Level, A-Level and UEC examinatio­ns, as well as PTPTN study loans.

Potential students are advised to bring along their actual or forecasted results for on-the-spot assessment and applicatio­n purposes.

Successful applicants for foundation courses paying their course fees in full before February 25 will be given RM500 rebates.

Curtin Malaysia, the largest internatio­nal campus of Curtin University and its global hub in Asia, offers undergradu­ate and postgradua­te courses in engineerin­g and related sciences, business and humanities, as well as one-year courses at foundation level that feed directly into the undergradu­ate programmes.

Most of the courses offered are in subject areas in which Curtin University is world-ranked in the prestigiou­s QS World University Rankings by Subject 2017.

Curtin University is currently ranked in the top one percent of universiti­es worldwide in the highly regarded Academic Ranking of World Universiti­es 2017 and rose significan­tly to 262nd position in the world in the QS World University Ranking 2017-18, up from 306th in 2016-17.
