KK Foochow Association to celebrate 35th anniversary
KOTA KINABALU: The Kota Kinabalu Foochow Association will be celebrating its 35th anniversary on March 18 at 6.30pm at Port View Palace Ballroom, Tanjung Lipat.
Its organising chairman, Peter Kong Sin Kiet, said the World Federation of Fuzhou Associations Ltd president Wu Huan Yan would be invited as guest of honor.
Kong said Federation of Foochow Malaysia president Datuk Seri Lau Wei Kiong is expected to attend as special guest along with national and foreign Foochow organisation leaders.
He added that the 18th Executive Committee and six other group committees including its Youth, Women, Welfare, Cemetery, Study Loan and Senior Citizen Sections would be having their installation ceremony.
Kong hoped members will fully support this year’s 35th anniversary through sponsoring of dinner tables and donating advertising for the souvenir magazine.
KKFA will also be organising the Chinese New Year celebration at 7pm on March 3 at Wisma Foochow.
Its vice chairman cum organising chairman Stephen Ling Kah Kiong said guests will be entertained with traditional lion and dragon dance, stage performances.
Ling urged members to support the event by early purchase of dinner table tickets priced at RM300 at the KKFA secretariat during office hours.
