State Secretary Tan Sri Sukarti Wakiman said civil servants ought to establish their stand with the government at this time.

As government staff who receive remuneration from the government every month, he said, they must show loyalty.

Sukarti said this at the Puspanita Sabah 35th Annual General Meeting opening ceremony here, yesterday.

On Puspanita and women empowerment, Sukarti said Puspanita was on the right track in implementing the policy.

"This is proven through its programmes that focus on empowering women, socially and economically. We hope these programmes will continue this year, in line with the association’s motto "Wanita Sepakat, Negara Meningkat",¨ he said.

He also hoped that Puspanita continues to intensify volunteerism activities, which could have a positive impact on the association.

Also present at the ceremony were Puspanita Sabah chairperson Puan Sri Hairani Hussaini and Industrial Development Ministry permanent secretary Datuk Haji Hashim Paijan.
