One Stop Superstore to launch new member card Feb 1

- By Neil Brian Joseph

KOTA KINABALU: TCT Trading Sdn Bhd’s One Stop Superstore will be launching the latest version of its member card on February 1, which promises to offer amazing benefits such as discounts up to 60 per cent and bonus points, among others.

With the slogan Tambah Nilai, Tambah Murah (added value, cheaper price) customers would only have to pay RM10 to apply for the card (which carries a lifetime membership) while existing members who wish to apply will be entitled to an additional RM5 voucher.

Orange Convenient Store Sdn Bhd (a subsidiary under TCT Trading) chief operating officer Joseph Koh disclosed in a press conference yesterday that the card will function like a debit card, whereby members can choose to reload the card (in any amount) and it can then be used to purchase items at any One Stop Superstore outlets.

“Each time a member reloads his card, he will be entitled to an additional five per cent cash in the card. Meaning to say, when a member reloads RM100, he will get an additional RM5,” Joseph said.

On top of that, members will be entitled to discounts ranging from six to 20 per cent for all of the items in One Stop Superstores.

Members will also be able to obtain bonus points each time they use the card.

“For every RM3 spent, a customer will be entitled to a point. As of now, a point will equal to one cent and this amount may be increased in the future,” Joseph said.

“The points can be converted to money in your account, which you can use to pay for items from One Stop Superstore,” he explained, adding that Orange stores might also be adopting the same concept in the future.

Meanwhile One Stop Superstore general manager Kelvin Chin explained that the card will include a chip that can be scanned using a machine, which will make the customer’s shopping experience even faster and smoother.

He noted that customers would first have to register online to fully activate their card.

What is even more interesting is that members can even use their phones to use their membership privileges every time they shop at One Stop Superstore.

“All members have to do is scan the QR code from their mobile devices. This means that customers do not necessarily have to bring their cards when they wish to shop at One Stop Superstore.

“This will make things easier for members as some people do not like the hassle of carrying too many cards in their wallets,” Kelvin said.

On February 1, the One Stop member card will be launched in four of its outlets, namely Asia City, Putatan, One Borneo and Manggatal.

The One Stop member card will then be launched at its other remaining outlets in stages and it will be up and running in all 63 outlets across the state by March 1.

The public may follow One Stop Superstore’s official Facebook page for more information on its latest promotions.
