Chinese New Year Carnival Feb 10-14
Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Hj Aman has been invited to be the guest of honour at the launch of 2018 Chinese New Year Carnival which will be held from February 10 to 14 at Padang Merdeka in Kota Kinabalu.
KOTA KINABALU: The joint effort of making “2018 Chinese New Year Carnival” a successful annual event signifies the close relationship between the state government and Chinese communities, and it has contributed to political stability in Sabah, said Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Hj Aman.
Musa made the remarks during a courtesy call led by the Assistant Minister of Chief Minister Department Datuk Edward Yong Oui Fah, Kota Kinabalu City Mayor Datuk Yeo Boon Hai, the Federation of Chinese Association Sabah (FCAS) president Tan Sri TC Goh yesterday, and also attended the organising Chairperson cum FCAS 1st Vice President Datuk Susan Wong.
The 2018 Chinese New Year Carnival, jointly organised by Kota Kinabalu City Hall and Federation of Chinese Associations Sabah, will be the longest celebration starting from Feb 10 to 14 at Padang Merdeka here.
The Chief Minister will be the guest of honour at the launch of the carnival on Feb 10 (Saturday), while Minister of Special Tasks Datuk Seri Panglima Teo Chee Kang will the guest of honour during the closing ceremony, while a “Thanksgiving Night” will be officiated by the Chief Minister’s wife Puan Sri Datuk Hajah Faridah Tussin.
The carnival will feature a series of exciting programmes, including kids and youth talent contests, dancing and Cheongsam Fashion Show and singing competitions.
The public are welcome to join the celebration and share the excitement especially on Feb 13 and 14 during which there will be “CNY Happy Hours” & “CNY Night Market”.
