Tun M concedes problems in state seats distribution

-

PUTRAJAYA: Pakatan Harapan chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, conceded that there were problems and delays in the distribution of state seats for Pakatan Harapan including in Selangor for the 14th General Election (GE14).

According to him, state seats were more complex and Pakatan Harapan in the states were given until today to resolve the issue of seat distribution.

“We have already resolved the parliamentary seats. It is the state seats which are a little bit more complex. However, most of them are already resolved,” he said in a press conference here yesterday.

On the seats negotiation with the 60:40 formula between Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) and Pakatan Harapan for the Sabah state seats, Dr Mahathir said he did not know the matter but had directed Pakatan Harapan to work with Warisan.

On the registration of Pakatan Harapan, Dr Mahathir said the coalition had a contingency plan if the Registrar of Societies (RoS) still did not approve the registration before the GE14.

“We have plan B and plan C but we will not tell,” said Dr Mahathir, who is also Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) chairman.

On PPBM members who lodged a report at the ROS on PPBM annual general meeting (AGM), PPBM president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin who was also present at the press conference said the party’s top leadership did not know the “real story” of the issue.

“We received information on the issue through the statement of ROS to the media. We won’t get reports unless the ROS follow the Societies Act by informing us of the case reported to them, only then they can know the actual case and appropriate action can be taken by the party,” he said.
