Indonesian woman in Jong-nam’s murder case pulled a prank at several locations — counsel

SHAH ALAM: Siti Aisyah, the Indonesian woman accused of murdering Kim Chol or Kim Jong-nam, whose brother is North Korea’s supreme leader, played a ‘practical joke’ at some public locations in the city in January last year.

She did it at KL Sentral, outside the Doubletree Hotel lobby, in front of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel lobby and Suria KLCC shopping mall.

Siti Aisyah’s counsel Gooi Soon Seng painted such scenario while cross-examining investigation officer ASP Wan Azirul Nizam Che Wan Aziz, 40, on the 29th day of Kim Chol’s murder trial.

Responding to Gooi at the High Court here yesterday, the 19th prosecution witness agreed with the scenario “based on what Siti Aisyah had said”.

Siti Aisyah, 26, and a Vietnamese woman, Doan Thi Huong, 29, stand accused of murdering Kim Chol with four other individuals still at large, at klia2 departure hall in Sepang on Feb 13, 2017.

Wan Azirul Nizam did not agree with Gooi’s proposal that an individual named James paid Siti Aisyah RM600 and RM50 as taxi fare, for each prank.

“Siti Aisyah said she was paid RM650 for doing the prank at KLIA and Mandarin Oriental Hotel on Jan 6 and Jan 9, respectively,” said the witness.

Gooi: I say on Jan 16, 2017, “James” arranged for Siti Aisyah to carry out the prank in Cambodia and she was paid RM1,500 for air ticket and taxi. Wan Azirul Nizam: Agree. During the trial, Gooi showed a number of short message services (SMS) between James and Siti Aisyah who called herself ‘Elice’ and James, ‘Jepun’.
