KUALA LUMPUR: Pictureworks, a photo imaging services for theme parks, has entered into a four-year partnership with Hong Kong’s Ocean Park Corp, for the provision of end-to-end digital imaging products, systems and services throughout more than 915,000-square metre facility.

In a statement yesterday, Pictureworks said, the partnership would begin from June 1, 2018 until May 31, 2022.

Its Chief Executive Officer, Jenny Tay, said this exclusive partnership would allow the company to build on its advanced imaging and technology expertise and extend its presence in leisure and tourism sector in the AsiaPacific region as image capture continued to be in demand.

Pictureworks said it would deploy its state-of-the-art imaging solutions with Ocean Park being the first partner to enjoy its new proprietary Facial Recognition technology as well as PictureAir solution.

“The company has successfully implemented them across various theme parks and attractions in more than 30 sites in over 15 countries. Their compatibility with popular social media platforms have also captured over 150 million guests per year,” it said.

Pictureworks applied technological advances in photo imaging to meet the emerging digital imaging needs of theme parks, attractions and special events, garnering huge demand for services from famous brands including LEGOLAND® Malaysia, LEGOLAND® Japan, KidZania in various parts of the world and major international theme parks, it said.

In December 2017, Malaysia’s ACE Market-listed company, PUC Bhd, which focuses on four key business segments – integrated media services, eCommerce and eWallet-related services, technology and renewable energy – announced the proposed acquisition of a 33 per cent stake in Pictureworks with the new business marking PUC’s entry in imagery capture sector.

The acquisition is expected for completion in the second quarter of this year.
