Don’t play politics in mosque – Tengku Abdullah

-

ROMPIN: The Regent of Pahang, Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah yesterday called on all mosque administrators and members to refrain from playing politics in order to protect the sanctity of the mosque as a house of worship.

He said that the responsibility of preserving the sanctity of the mosque should also be jointly shouldered by the residents who frequented the mosque instead of placing it all on those who were appointed as the administrators.

“The mosque administration should be well organised and for the new mosque, choose the right administrators... do not choose with the aim at using the mosque as a platform or springboard for your own careers.

“I do not want to see clans or factions. Go the mosque to worship Allah, not to gossip or spread lies. If you still want to do such things, go sit under the tree or elsewhere,” Tengku Abdullah said after officiating the ground breaking ceremony of the Kampung Sungai Puteri new mosque here yesterday which was also attended by Tengku Puan Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.

Also present were Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob, State Secretary Datuk Seri Safian Ismail and Rompin Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Hasan Arifin.

The mosque project costing RM7 million is expected to be completed by September 2019.
