Motorcycle club attends Sabah Moto Day 3.0

KUCHING: Twenty-five members of ‘Team Elizabeth Clan’ motorcycle club completed their mission to attend the Sabah Moto Day 3.0 in Kota Kinabalu last Saturday.

The Kuching-based recreational club started their journey on February 14 and had set a target of reaching Kota Kinabalu within a day on their two-stroke motorcycles.

According to club spokesperson Mohd Azuan Jamaludin, the objective of the ride was to nurture positive attitude among bikers and to divert the youths’ focus from racing on the streets to a more positive activity.

“We wanted our members to explore and enjoy the beauty of Borneo on the road, to know other places around Sabah and Sarawak and to turn riding into a passionate and positive hobby,” said Azuan.

Azuan added that the programme also aimed to portray a better image of bikers to the masses, as to not leave a bad impression which sometimes was associated with bikers.

“We want to show the public that we bikers are respectful of other road users and being in a motor club has its positive effects as we are more towards attending recreational activities and to show our passion towards twostroke machines,” said Azuan.

The flag-off was performed by Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Samariang deputy youth chief Arafan Annuar.
