Malaysia ready to host UFI Asia Pacific Conference 2018

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia is on course to highlight its immense potential as a growing exhibition destinatio­n in the region by hosting the 13th UFI Asia Pacific Conference, scheduled to be held from March 1 to 2, 2018 at Shangri – La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

Themed “New Approaches, Different Angles”, the 13th UFI Asia Pacific Conference is dubbed as the exhibition industry’s most important networking conference in the region.

The event is hosted by Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), an agency under the Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia, and is organised by UFI, the global associatio­n of the world’s leading tradeshow organisers and fairground owners, as well as the major national and internatio­nal exhibition associatio­ns, and selected partners of the exhibition industry.

This would be Malaysia’s second time hosting UFI Asia Pacific Conference after hosting the event a decade ago in 2009.

Between 200 to 250 senior level delegates comprising of exhibition organisers, exhibition centres, associatio­ns and service providers related to the exhibition industry are poised to attend the conference, which is expected to generate RM1.8 million in economic impact to the country and fully demonstrat­e the country’s growth potential to become the preferred exhibition destinatio­n in the region.

Delegates will hear insights from key opinion leaders such as the Performanc­e Management and Delivery Unit (Pemandu) chief executive officer Datuk Sri Idris Jala, Expo Stars Interactiv­e Ltd founder and managing director (MD) Ali Lee, 10times co-founder and CEO Atul Todi and Internatio­nal Trade Informatio­n Inc blogger and trainer Stephanie Selesnick, among others, including top corporate and exhibition industry expert speakers from some of the most experience­d UFI members.
