Teo certain of BN victory in Kudat
KUDAT: Minister of Special Tasks Datuk Seri Panglima Teo Chee Kang is confident that Barisan Nasional (BN) will deliver victory in the parliamentary seat and three state seats in Kudat.
Teo, who is also the president of Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) cum Tanjong Kapor assemblyman, said BN had managed to secure the parliamentary and state seats in Kudat constituency even when the opposition was united during the 13th General Election (GE13) in 2013.
With the currently disunited opposition, he believed that BN would certainly secure the parliamentary seat and three state seats in Kudat constituency.
He said opposition parties had only become active in ‘turun padang’, organizing Chinese New Year activities or did charity works when the election was near.
“The opposition had never been concerned about the challenges faced by our country in the past five years.
“They are only concerned about securing their candidacies and wanting to be YBs,” Teo said when officiating at the Chinese New Year celebration organized by LDP Tanjong Kapor division at Dewan Tun Mustapha here. Thousands of people attended the event.
He said the large turnout at opposition’s gatherings was not an indicator of the people’s support for the opposition, but rather they were attracted by the lucky draw prizes.
He said many thought that the opposition would topple the government in GE13 but the outcome of the election showed otherwise.
“BN coalition remains strong and will continue to govern the country after GE14.”
Teo urged voters in Kudat to use their wisdom in the coming general election and support BN candidates who would truly serve and bring development to the people.
He added that there would be more and more false information on BN being circulated on social media as the election drew near.
As such, he hoped the voters could discern such rumours on social media and avoid spreading falsehood that could potentially affect harmony and unity in our country.
On the event, Teo said Sabah was the best exemplar of the 1Malaysia spirit where the people celebrated festive seasons together irrespective of race and religion.
