World Speech Day receives more sponsorshi­p

TAWAU: The World Speech Day 2018 received support from the chairman of Tawau Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Chia Seong Fatt, who contribute­d generously to the event to make it even more meaningful and memorable for both speakers and the audience.

The World Speech Day Malaysia 2018 will be held tomorrow (March 15) from 7pm to 10pm at Institute of Science and Management here.

Chia was invited to speak at the event but declined. However he said he is fully supportive of the World Speech Day and was very happy that Institute of Science and Management has taken up the challenge to organize the event.

He thanked the pioneer of World Speech Day Malaysia who organized the event in 2016 and 2017. He also congratula­ted Lee Chye Ewe for being appointed the World Speech Day National Ambassador.

Meanwhile, Chia also thanked Christy Wong for getting a team together to organize the World Speech Day. He was certain that such experience would be both valuable and useful for the students as a team and individual.

He also urged the people here not to miss such an historical event.

“It is not common that we have a chance to stand on the world stage to share our views. That’s why it is also important for us to support all the speakers who have taken the courage to speak,” he added.

The organizer also thanked other sponsors - Syarikat Lui Kim Chock Sdn Bhd, Red Apple Cake House and Tawau Member of Parliament cum Deputy Minister of Higher Education Datuk Dr Mary Yap.
