330 Kuamut villagers get land titles
KINABATANGAN: A total of 330 residents in Kuamut constituency here express their gratitude to the government for processing their land titles which they received from Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Haji Aman yesterday.
The land titles were presented after the Kinabatangan community hall ground breaking ceremony held at Dataran Tamu Kinabatangan District Council.
Musa in his speech said that the presentation of land titles was in line with the government policy to ensure people’s right to land ownership would be fulfilled.
“The BN Government is responsible and concern about the people’s right to land ownership. Thus, the government will do anything for the well being of the people by providing various assistance and implement development both in rural and urban areas,” he said.
The land title recipients felt relieved and grateful as they had waited some 20 years for their land titles.
Meanwhile, commenting on the soon to-be built community hall of Kinabatangan costing about RM4 million, Musa hoped the local communities would be able to enjoy the facility once it was ready.
“This community hall shall be a place for local community to strengthen their relationship through festive celebration or community activities.
“Moreover, the hall will also be equipped with badminton and basketball courts which can be used by the youth,” he added.
Musa also hoped the people would continue to give their mandate to the government in the 14th general election to rule the country so that more development can be implemented.
Also present at the event were Kinabatangan MP Datuk Seri Bung Mokhtar Radin, Kinabatanagan Upko division chief Datuk Masiung Banah, Sukau assemblyman Datuk Saddi Abdul Rahman, Sabah Land And Survey Department director Datuk Safar Untong and PBRS division chief Dassim Jikah.
