Study shows people still favour BN — Ramlee

-

SEMPORNA: Sabah Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) are now 100 per cent ready for the 14th general election, said State Umno deputy head of Information Datuk Ramlee Marahaban.

He said BN could also wrest several seats from the opposition that could contribute to a big victory for the ruling coalition in the upcoming election.

“An attitude study of the people showed very good results where the people are still in favour of BN.

“However, we cannot be over confident and should continue to work hard,” said Ramlee, who is also the State Assistant Minister of Finance.

He said the result of the attitude study that was undertaken by Umno and BN also matched with the results of attitude studies undertaken by several other agencies.

Ramlee who is also the assemblyman for Bugaya dismissed an allegation that the candidate for Bugaya would have to struggle to win in the upcoming election.

He said although Bugaya had the largest number of voters in Semporna, the people here would always provide support to BN.

“We are always with the people here and the people here also provided positive response to programmes implemented by Umno and BN,” he added.

Meanwhile, Ramlee said efforts were being carried out to improve the network and broadband services in Bugaya area for the benefit of the communities.

He said some areas here already enjoyed better broadband services since the launching of high-speed broadband service by TM (Unifi) recently.

Ramlee said the upgrading process was undertaken in stages and TM was currently identifying service problems here.

“Due to some issues, TM was forced to do some resetting here and re-diagnosis to ensure smooth access to the service,” said Ramlee who is also Assistant Minister of Finance in response to a statement issued by some parties that Bugaya and Semporna were being left out by the government, in terms of networking and communication.

Ramlee said the government was always committed in developing the country, including in Semporna in all aspects.

He added that various projects were implemented to ensure the people could live in comfortable conditions, equipped with various facilities.
