Shortage of medical specialists
THERE has been a lot of adverse press recently about numbers of medical graduates inundating the Malaysian Health system, but the fact remains that our nation is still short of the 1:400 doctor-topopulation target by the Year 2020 set by the Malaysian government.
To add to this state of affairs is the severe shortage of medical specialists all around the globe; some estimate it to be about 7000 in Malaysia itself.
