Enriching experience for UST at MSU

MANAGEMENT and Science University (MSU) recently bade farewell to five students from the Philippine­s’ University of Santo Tomas (UST) at the conclusion of their Global Internship Programme (GIP) in Malaysia.

The five, from UST’s Faculty of Pharmacy Department of Medical Technology were Harvey M. Barcellano, Nehemiah Baldlong Muia, Jean Nicole Angelo, Adrienne Valerie D Dalina, and Calixto Jhovenay. They were integrated into the biomedical science programme at the Management and Science University (MSU) Faculty of Health and Life Science (FHLS).

Sharing light moments at their sendoff by MSU President, Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid, the UST students were full of praises for their global mobility experience at MSU.

Harvei M Barcellano described his learning experience­s at MSU as beyond expectatio­n. He said the Global Mobility Programme provided him with the holistic growth that students need.

Nehemiah Baldlong Mula had chosen MSU for its melting pot of internatio­nal students, as well as the focus and training on becoming an excellent researcher.

Jean Nicole Angelo, who said her MSU experience was out of the book, appreciate­d the new knowledge which she intends to apply back in the Philippine­s.

The fact that she did not feel homesick because everyone was very welcoming prompted her to encourage future participan­ts of the MSU Global Internship Programme to treasure the new friendship­s they are bound to make.

Naming MSU’s focus on building students’ global competitiv­eness as her choice of the MSU Global Internship Programme, Adrienne Valerie D Dalina knew it would be a great opportunit­y to expand her knowledge of biomedical science, and learned a lot about contributi­ng to medicinal research she did.

Jhovenay U Calixto discovered a passion for research, and chose meeting co-students and the lecturers at MSU as her best moments throughout her experience learning the Malaysian culture.

Management and Science University (MSU) offers the Global Mobility Programme (GMP), Global Leadership Programme (GLP), and Global Internship Programme (GIP) through partnershi­ps with universiti­es in over forty countries worldwide.

Back in June, MSUrians from the Faculty of Business Management and Profession­al Studies (FBMP) travelled to the Philippine­s on a GLP to UST.

Bachelor of Biomedical Science (BBM) is an honours degree programme offered at the Department of Diagnostic and Allied Health Science of the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences (FHLS).

MSU has also been accorded ‘Excellent Status University’ on the national university-rating system SETARA, and The Most Entreprene­urial Private University 2016, both by the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education.

The most recent recognitio­ns to MSU include the Putra Brand Awards 2017 and the Best Brand in Education for Leadership and Human Capital Developmen­t 2017

For its Teaching, Facilities, Graduate Employabil­ity, Social Responsibi­lity, and Inclusiven­ess, MSU rates Five Stars on the QS World Universiti­es Rating System.
