KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) Youth will be organising the 2018 Sabah BN Career Carnival at ITCC, Penampang on April 8.

Its chairman, Haji Yamani Hafez Datuk Seri Musa, told press members yesterday that the career carnival was part of the solution to the issues raised by youths partaking in the Transformasi Nasional 2050 (TN50) colloquium, which included employment opportunities for youths in Sabah.

“We did not wait long to come up with a solution and we want to find a resolution to it now,” he said at the Umno building near here following a two-hour meeting with his fellow youth members.

The career carnival is jointly organised by Sabah Human Resource Department and Jobs Malaysia.

He added that unemployment was the biggest predicament raised by youths he met during the TN50 colloquium.

So far, a total of 2,000 people have registered online at the event’s website, www. karnivalkerjayapemudabn. com looking for various jobs, he said.

He said that about 3,000 jobs would be offered during the carnival and successful applicants would receive job offers immediately.

At the carnival, there will also be a job matching counter to help job seekers find the right job for them, he said.

Job seekers who are between 18 years old and above and possess at least the minimum qualification and up to tertiary levels are encouraged to come to the carnival.

Employers partaking in the event include Petronas, BTC Berhad Group, Hyatt Regency Kinabalu, Celcom Timur and more.

He said there will also be opportunities available for people with disabilities during the carnival.

“We seek to be as multidimensional as possible,” he said.

Also present were Sabah BN Youth secretary Jasnih Daya, assistant Sabah Umno secretary Mohd Bahrin Abdul Karim and assistant Sabah Umno Puteri treasurer Salmie Sarinoh.
