Take part in FCAS Internatio­nal Dragon Boat Race call

KOTA KINABALU: The fifth edition of the Sabah FCAS Internatio­nal Dragon Boat Race 2018 will be held at Likas Bay from May 11 to 13.

Participat­ing teams can go for training either at Sutera Harbour Marina or Kampung Gayang, Tuaran daily from March 30 to May 10, 8am to 6pm.

Event chairman Tan Sri Dr T.C. Goh said the race had gained popularity among the neighbouri­ng countries, including China, Southeast Asian countries as well as the states in Malaysia.

He urged associatio­ns, private companies and members of the public to take part in the competitio­n.

Those who wish to participat­e can contact the FCAS Secretaria­t at 088-253433 or Grace at 0168062177.

Meanwhile, organizing chairlady Datuk Susan Wong Siew Guen said participan­ts can opt to train at Sutera Harbour Marina or Kampung Gayang.

She said the teams could make appointmen­ts to train for an hour anytime from 8am to 6pm, adding that participan­ts were required to pay a deposit of RM100 to register for training.

Wong said the Sabah FCAS Internatio­nal Dragon Boat Race 2018 had expanded to 11 categories, while the total cash prizes had increased from RM81,000 last year to RM93,000 this year.

She added that FCAS would also invite its 150 associate members to join the race.

“The dragon boat race this year is going to be an exciting event.”
