TENOM: The giving of 1Malaysia People’s Aid (BR1M) proves that the less fortunate group is being given special attention by the government led by the Barisan Nasional (BN), said Sabah Rural Development Minister Datuk Seri Radin Malleh.

He said the aid also proved that the government always appreciated the support, role and contribution of the people in developing the country particularly in Tenom.

“Based on the federal and state government budget 2018, the government had provided considerable allocation to prosper the people,”he said at a ceremony to hand out BR1M, here yesterday.

Radin said the BN government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak always endeavoured to ensure that the welfare of the people especially the poor and lowincome groups were looked after and achieve equality.

“We are thankful that the government is truly concerned and sensitive for the requirements of the people in the state.

“For BR1M alone, the BN government is providing a total of RM6.8 billion and seven million people will benefit from it... RM600 million of the amount is for the people in Sabah,” Radin said

The State Assemblyman for Melalap also said Malaysia was among several developing countries in the world that could afford and succeeded in implementing the aid programmes such as BR1M.
