Continue supporting BN in GE14 — Yahya

-

PUTATAN: The elevation of a subdistrict to a full-fledged district will see more government-funded facilities and development for the people in such area, said Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Yahya Haji Hussin yesterday.

Yahya cited that Putatan was one of the fastest growing districts in the State after being elevated to become a full district since 2011.

He said the effort to upgrade the status of a sub-district is important to ensure that regional development plans can be planned and regulated as well as to determine the planned and effective development of each district.

Yahya, who is also Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, said the Barisan Nasional (BN) government had successfully led the rapid development in Putatan with the completion of the threelane highway under the Pan Borneo highway project as well as the development of public housing and other infrastructure.

“Various assistance are also given to the people such as the 1Malaysia People’s Aid (BR1M), subsistence allowance for fishermen, senior citizens, disabled people and more.

“All this is for the well-being of the people. BN is a caring government and is always looking for ways to help people prosper,” he added when launching the Jualan Sentuhan Rakyat program here.

In this regard, Yahya urged the people to continue giving their support and votes to the BN in the 14th General Election (GE14).

Yahya pointed out that the Putatan parliamentary sales carnival was part of the BN government’s efforts to help alleviate the burden of the low income group.

At the event, Yahya and Putatan member of parliament Datuk Marcus Mojigoh also launched the program which offered the lowest prices for more than 20 essential goods such as rice, flour, oil and sugar.

In a separate development, Yahya who is also Petagas assemblyman also launched the ‘Youth On The Move’ 2018 program at Dewan Sri Putatan.

The program was organized by Puteri Umno Putatan, with various events held such as zumba, netball, futsal, autoshow, food truck, stalls and DJ music performances.

In his speech, he urged Puteri Umno to approach and ensure that young voters go out to vote for the Barisan Nasional (BN) in the 14th general election which is to be held at any time from now on.
